Mind Catch

Mind Catch is a training where you focus on your breath and objectively observe the thoughts, emotions, and sensations that arise within you.

Helps you naturally accept wandering attention instead of seeing it as a failure, enhancing the ability to 'decenter' and detach from sensations, thoughts, and emotions.

Start

Skills Trained

Sustained Attention

Cultivates the ability to intentionally direct attention to a single anchor, like your breath.

Noticing

Improves meta-cognition by immediately recognizing the moment your attention wanders.

Decentering

Builds the power to observe your thoughts or feelings neutrally, taking a step back instead of identifying with them.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this practice work?

Breathe along with the visual guide in the center of the screen. The moment you notice your focus has drifted, tap the screen to select the distraction (Thought/Emotion/Sensation).

What ability does this training build?

It trains the ability to catch the moment a thought arises mid-breath, and strengthens awareness by repeatedly labeling distractions as thought, emotion, or sensation.

Why does labeling matter?

The moment you label a distraction, you step back from it rather than getting swept away. As this distance-creating reflex grows stronger, you'll find it easier to return to the present moment even when your focus drifts.

How can I get the most out of this practice?

Don't try to stop thoughts from arising — noticing them is the practice. When one appears, simply note 'Ah, there's a thought' and gently return to your breath without self-blame.
